True story from yesterday.
8:14 a.m. – I told the Moley Robotics kitchen arm (Samsung Bot Chef):
“Make beef Wellington, garlic mash, and honey-glazed carrots for 12 people. Ready at 3 p.m.”
Then I forgot about it.
What actually happened:
- 9:30 a.m. – It ordered the missing puff pastry and fresh thyme via Instacart
- 11:00 a.m. – Prepped everything without waking the house
- 2:58 p.m. – Rolled out of the oven looking like Gordon Ramsay on his best day
- 3:15 p.m. – Plated every dish, poured gravy, and played soft jazz, then cleaned every pan while we ate
Total human effort:
- Me: said 14 words
- My wife: pressed “confirm order” on her phone
Cost of the robot arm: $29,900 installed (or $499/month)
Cost of never hearing “who’s doing the designated cooker this year?” ever again: priceless
It even texted the vegetarians:
“Cauliflower Wellington is ready in the warming drawer.”
2026 update coming in February: dessert module (crème brûlée torch included).
My mother-in-law keeps calling it “the son-in-law I always wanted.”
Merry Christmas from a kitchen that finally cooks itself.
(Who else let a robot cook Christmas this year? Drop photos below.)
