Maria cleaned my house every other Friday for six years.
Last week she sent me a voice note:
“Hey, it’s Maria. I heard you got that new Dreame robot that does floors, windows, AND baseboards. I just wanted to say… thank you. I took two new clients this month because you don’t need me anymore. My back doesn’t hurt on Saturdays now. Bless that little machine.”
The robot in question: Dreame X50 Ultra Pro ($1,599)
What it did in 82 minutes yesterday while I was on a Zoom call:
- Vacuumed + mopped every floor
- Climbed the stairs by itself (yes, really)
- Washed exterior windows with a spinning pad arm
- Scrubbed baseboards with a tiny rotating brush
- Emptied its own dust bin, washed its own mop pads in hot water, and dried them
- Sent me a 4K “after” video set to chillhop
The house has literally never been this clean.
Maria now makes more money working for people who still hate robots.
I tip her an extra $200 and told her the robot says hi.
The future is awkward and amazing at the same time.
(Who else accidentally improved someone’s life by buying a robot?)
